For maintenance purposes, the contractor and consultant were enquiring about a coating with multiple protection characteristics that also maintains a superior matt-finish look. Located near the artificial lake of Powai, Mumbai, the structures must cope with high humidity and alternating wet and dry seasons.
The contractor was oriented on the multiple benefits and single-product added properties of anti-carbonation, inherent waterproofing breathability, and anti-bacterial/fungal protection. Cost effectiveness and an array of shades added to the appreciation of the high technical factors, quality parameters, and commercial viability of KingCoat A50 .
KingKrete Solution
Cracks were opened in a V-groove and filled with the highly elastic, over-paintable, UV-resistant elastomeric PU sealant KingSeal PU140.
The sealed grooves were covered for additional protection with one coat of the acrylic sealant KingSeal AG50.
Once all crack repair was complete, the entire area was painted with the decorative anti-carbonation coating KingCoat A50 — one primer coat followed by two thick coats at a total dry film thickness of 150–200 microns.
