Task at Hand

Al-Sanabel Converting Industries is a leading Middle East manufacturer of health products; Baby Life Healthcare Industries has provided high-quality, safety-focused healthcare products for years.

As an alternative to conventional reinforcement using deformed steel bars, steel fiber was proposed for reinforcing the slab on grade (SOG) of the new facility — fully substituting conventional bars. In SOG construction, steel fiber increases cracking resistance and the residual strength of cracked concrete through the fibers’ bridging effect. Analytical solutions were carried out to obtain applied slab loads and evaluate the feasibility — with substantially increased productivity and reduced construction cost and time.
